Rules for WorcsPCSG Groups

  • Please be respectful of others.
  • Please check your facts – opinions are fine too, but make it clear which you are using. (Very few of us are medical experts, for example).
  • Please do not abuse the privacy of other members.
  • Please only send messages that are relevant to the group.

WorcsPCSG Community Administrators

Please contact one of the Community Admins if:

  • You think there is a need for a separate group.
  • You are concerned about a message, a group member or have any ideas or worries.
  • You know of someone who would like to join the community.

To ensure everyone has a safe and productive experience, by joining the group you are agreeing to abide by these guidelines.

General Etiquette for WhatsApp Groups

You may find the following general guidance useful to bear in mind when using WhatsApp Community Groups:

  • Avoid 1-to-1 conversations – these may be better handled in a different channel (e.g. a personal message).
  • Use @name to alert a specific person about a message. (This will also alert the person when they are muted).
  • Reply to a specific comment by holding the comment and selecting “Reply”.
  • Post your message in one single chunk of text if possible.
  • Avoid posting messages between 21:00 and 07:00.
  • Avoid arguing, heated discussions, fear-mongering and hyped-up drama. Check your sources before sharing.
  • Never use a group message to berate someone else (whether they are a member or not).
  • If you don’t know the answer to a general question, don’t reply with “I don’t know”.
  • If someone answers a question, don’t repeat the same answer. Use 👍 to agree instead.
  • Please don’t send in multiple “thank you” messages – one is fine.
  • Feel free to use the “Mute” function on a group if notifications are too frequent.
  • If you’re not contributing or interested, feel free to leave the group.
  • Do politely excuse yourself before leaving a group.
  • Don’t be offended if others leave a group.
